Since 2013, the airport has been owned by the Manchester Airports Group and owns a total area of 713 hectares. As the fourth largest airport in Britain, it accommodates more than 28–30 million passengers per year. Currently, it can offer passages to more than 150 locations in 30 different countries. The airport also acts as the hub for budget Ireland’s Ryanair, which has its operations at Stansted and offers transfers to over one hundred over destinations.

International Stansted Airport lies 42 miles northeast of Central London and 0.9 miles from the Hertfordshire border. It is situated in the village of Stansted Mountfitchet in the district of Uttlesford in Essex. Stansted is the newest passenger airport of all in London. It has only one terminal, which is an extended glass building having no gate.
